Research Proposal

This afternoon I'm gonna talk to a professor of mine, ask if he wants to be my promotor for my new thesis subject. I don't think there'll be a real problem with it. My subject is quite fine I guess, and I never heard this professor having a numerus clausus or something. So, I just hope he's friendly and that he understands my situation with my erasmus in Nothern Ireland, cause he's the kind of professor that likes to have his thesis students in his office every 15 days... But think everything will be fine :-) Cause you have to admit, this research proposal sounds good: The adaptation from novel to movie: an analysis of Lord of the Rings.

I'm back from this professor... He doesn't want to promote the thesis as I suggested it. He thinks it's to 'easy', not profound enough. Damn... He wants to be my promotor but then I have to place the subject in a bigger framework... Like 'fantasy films in the past 20 years'... Blah...
He was friendly and stuff, and said he remembered our film analysis and that it was very good indeed, but that a thesis had to be a lot more. I know that, but I don't really feel like analyzing 10 fantasy movies and telling what's so typical about them, and why they're getting more popular again... You know... i find that a lot less profound then a fargoing analysis of the adaptation from novel to movie... But yeah... he didn't talk about the novel part any second. Guess he isn't really interested in that stuff... PPfff...
