Yesterday my mother, Michel and I went to the Samhain Nocturne, which is on old Keltic tradition, which celebrates the transition from summer to winter. It was a mysterious spectacle with music, art, fire and light and that all in the woods which gave it something extra.

Tonight we're invited for dinner at the new house of our friends. I'm quite curious to see their house, but we're invited at 7pm so I'm afraid that it will be already dark so we want really see the outside very well. They just texted us to bring our slippers, because there's only sand outside and the weather's is horrible today and otherwise we'll bring too much mud inside. I think that makes it more comfortable, walking around in someone elses house on my own slippers ;)

a friend told me she knows a couple who lets you take of your shoes also when you enter their house. It seems weird to me if you go visit them , you have to wear slippers all the time. The woman just doesn't want people to wear shoes in their house.
I must admitt though, wearing your slippers, you immediately feel more comfortable.

I would never ask my guests to take of their shoes every time they come in. If you have a doormat, I think there's no problem at all. But I do understand that when it's muddy outside and there's no other way to come in then through the mud, that they ask to take off our shoes. It's also good to know that I want wear my nicest shoes tonight as I'll have to go through some mud to get to their house ;)

At home Michel and I hardly wear our shoes inside the apartment, only when we are home for a very short while, otherwise we always change to slippers, because it's comfortable and the downstair neighbours don't hear our footsteps as loud.

that's true. And you know you can wear your comfy slippers, so that's nice too. No painfull high heels or stuff like that to bare with.

It's sweet of you to think of the neigbours below you.

The Nocturne sounds lovely. I would really enjoy a show like that.
